The order quantity of South Korean shipping enterprises is more than China again in August after 3 months.So they ranked first again.
The ship orders of South Korean shipping enterprises in July were always more than China and ranked first.But the latest data showed China ranked first and the second is South Korea.
Clarkson data showed the Korean ship enterprise got orders of 9 vessels and 130,000 CGT in August and ranked first in the world. The second was China which got orders of 7 ships and 110,000 CGT. Japanese shipping companies ranked third with a total order of 2 vessels and 40,000 CGT. This is the first time South Korean shipping enterprise ranked first since China exceeded it in May.
Data statistics show the total number of new ship orders in the world are 33, 510,000 CGT.The order quantity of 44 and 1.57 million CGT in July is only a third of August.
In the past eight months, the total number of new vessels in the world was 489 and 12.73 million CGT.It increased up 40.9% comparing with the quantity of 404 and 9.03 million CGT in the same period last year.
The Chinese Shipping enterprise still ranks the first with the total order quantity of 195 vessels and 4.22 million CGT this year. The second is South Korean shipping enterprise with total quantity of 104 vessels,3.48 million CGT.
By the end of August, The Global order quantity is74.71 million CGT.It was below 80 million CGT for continuous 6 months. Chinese shipping companies hold the world's largest number of orders, with a total of 25.83 million CGT, accounting for 34.6 percent of global market share. Japan and South Korea hold orders of 16.12 million CGT and 16.1 million CGT , accounting for 21.6% of the market share each.
